Periodontics

Periodontal (gum) disease can lead to more than just an unsightly smile – it can cause loss of teeth and eventually, if left untreated, serious health problems. Called gingivitis in its early stages, periodontal disease is caused by excessive toxic bacteria (found in plaque) that attack your mouth’s soft tissues. Early warning signs of this disease include red, swollen, bleeding gums. If caught early, we can help you reverse the damage. Fillings and Crowns

At our office, we offer traditional and tooth-coloured fillings. Tooth-coloured material can be used both as fillings and to repair defects in the teeth. Because they are tooth-coloured, it is difficult to distinguish them from natural teeth. These fillings are often used on the front teeth where a natural appearance is important. They can be used on the back teeth as well, depending on the location and extent of the tooth decay.

Crowns cover and support a tooth with a large filling when there isn't enough tooth left. It can be used to attach a bridge, protect a weak tooth from breaking or restore one that's already broken. A crown is a good way to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped. It's also used to cover a dental implant. A crown can make your tooth stronger and improve its appearance.

Preventive Dentistry

This includes our regular dental hygiene visits, sealants, mouthguards, and patient/parent education. We place a high emphasis on gums, which is one of the most important factors in for lifelong oral health. Our dentist and hygienist are very meticulous about monitoring the heath of the gums and use the latest techniques in offering non-invasive gum treatment.
